The research profile of the Department of Electronic Systems covers a wide range of topics within the ICT area, several of which where the department is recognized as being among the world leading. However, in addition to the academic recognition, the department also has a long tradition of carrying out research in close cooperation with industry and has extensive collaborations with several hundreds of regional, national and international companies. In fact during the past couple of decades, a number of major companies within the area have decided to establish R&D activities in the vicinity of Aalborg University, specifically to be able to exploit interaction with the Department of Electronic Systems.
