machine learning research group

Machine Learning is one of the research groups at the Department of Electronic Systems.

It is an era of big data when signals and data available are abundant and exploding. They are precious assets only when analysed for extracting information and for building problem-solving systems. Machine learning, and in particular deep learning, which is the primarily driving force for this wave of AI success, provides essential tools for this purpose and thus powerful solutions to numerous real-world scientific and societal challenges.

Using AI and machine learning, the group for example develops learning algorithms for hearing assistive devices. Through developing state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms, we make a difference in people’s lives.

In this group, we strive to:

  • Develop novel AI solutions to solve real-world problems and societal challenges
  • Advance machine-learning algorithms with a broad range of applications, involving data such as sound, image, multimodal, biomedical and industrial signals.
  • Establish a stimulating environment for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
