Profile
The section for Automation Control is an organizational unit within the Department of Electronic Systems at Aalborg University. Within the field of control systems research, we are committed to educating scientists and engineers, conducting research on an internationally competitive level, publishing the results in quality outlets and transferring new technologies to industrial and commercial partners through joint programmes.
The research within the section addresses control problems from two angles. One is fundamental research on modelling, estimation and controller design. The other is advanced applications work in control, which makes use of, and in many cases inspires, new theory.
Key research focus areas include:
- Reconfigurable systems
- Hybrid systems
- Nonlinear and optimal control
- Model predictive control
- Estimation
The main application domains are:
- Energy conversion systems
- Wind energy
- Smart grid control
- Robotics and UAV's
