Historic overview
CPK was a 10 year research programme funded mainly by the National
Research Council, but also by industrial cooperation, totaling 200M
kroner, about 27 MEuro. The research areas (see below) ranged from
different aspects of mobile communications to higher layer applications,
such as speech synthesis and recognition. The results have not only been
the traditional scientific publications (see www.es.aau.dk), but also
input to industrial applications and standardization committees. We have
helped in fostering an industrial cluster in Northern Jutland, and our
graduates, Masters and Phds may be found scattered all over the world.
The results of CPK laid the foundation of the later work in the
Department of Electronic Systems, see below.
